Raising Money, The Children's Miracle Network - Susan G. Komen Sold for the Cure Charity

BERLIN- Continuing a commission-splitting plan that in 2010 netted $5,000 for two charities-The Children's Miracle Network and the Susan G. Komen, Sold for the Cure-Sales Associates with Northern Edge Realty of Berlin donated $5,400 in 2011 to area families and local organizations in need. The Sales Associates will again be offering part of their sales commissions to raise money for area families and local organizations in 2012.

"We want to give back to the community," says Carl Mercier, principal broker-owner of the Re/Max realty company.

"RE/MAX Northern Edge Realty is #1 in total real estate sales volume for not only the local area but also for all of Coos County, NH and we want to do something again this year to show our appreciation." In 2010 clients and or customers could choose whether the part of every transaction donated went either to the Children's Miracle Network or the Susan G. Komen fund. We had such a good response in 2010," said Mercier. "The comments were so positive." The Sales Associates decided to continue with the Giving Back Campaign in 2011, this time donating a portion of every commission earned to local families and local organizations in need. The Sales Associates will continue their Giving Back Campaign in 2012.

Already in 2012, the Sales Associates have been contributing to the fund, although the first recipient has not yet been designated. The company may seek guidance from local charities to decide the best allocations of the funds, Mercier said. "Times are tough for everyone. We want to be sure to be helping families in real need," he said. "Our main focus is to say "Thank you, to people in the area," Mercier said. "We have great Sales Associates. It's a complete team effort." He expects distributions will begin early in 2012.
