Giving Back Campaign

Sales Associates with RE/MAX Northern Edge Realty will again be donating a portion of their commission from each home SOLD to raise money for families and organizations in 2017.

Supporting the communities that support us, one home at a time!

BERLIN - The Sales Associates with RE/MAX Northern Edge Realty began their Giving Back Campaign back in 2010, and in that year, $5,000 was split between two national charities, the Susan G. Komen fund and the Children's Miracle Network. In 2011, the Sales Associates decided to use the money to help people in need in the local area. The Associates felt the money could have a greater direct impact if spent in the community.

"There are a lot of people who needed help right here in the local communities," said Carl Mercier, Primary Broker of the firm. Since 2011, the Giving Back program has donated over $50,000 to local causes. Many of the donations have been publicly given to school activities, sports programs, and charitable efforts like Toys for Tots. But other donations have been given quietly to families with sick loved ones and to people in need.

Sales Associates make recommendations on potential donations and collectively decide where to spend the money. The idea is simply to give back to the community that has made the company #1 in total real estate sales volume and property sold since 2008 based on information from the New England Real Estate Network, Inc for the period of January 1st 2008 through April 14th 2017.

Mercier noted "the Giving Back Program is funded entirely by the Sales Associates and is separate from donations made by RE/MAX Northern Edge Realty."

Already in 2017, the Sales Associates have been contributing to the fund. The agents may seek guidance from local charities to decide the best allocations of the funds, Mercier said. "Times can be tough on anyone at anytime. We want to be sure to be helping families in real need," he said. "Our main focus is to say Thank you, to the people in the area," Mercier said "We have great Sales Associates. It's a complete team effort." He expects distributions will begin early in 2017 and continue for the foreseeable future.
