Milan, NH

The town of Milan’s name is pronounced differently from the English name for the Italian city by the same name. Neighboring Berlin also shares a similarly distinct pronunciation from its European namesake. Originally named Paulsburg in 1771 after Paul Wentworth, the town was incorporated on December 16, 1824.

According to the United States Census Bureau the town has a total area of 64.6 square miles of which 63.8 square miles is land and 0.8 square miles is water. The highest point is the summit of Deer Ridge, at 2,808 feet above sea level.

Education: Milan has one school. Milan Village School. It is open for children attending grades K-6. There are approximately 138 students enrolled. Students in grades 7-12 attend Berlin Junior/Senior High School.
